Gozem raises $30 million in Series B funding to accelerate its expansion and revolutionize digital services in French-speaking Africa

Gozem, the leading Super App in Francophone Africa, announces the closing of a $30 million Series B funding round, comprising both equity and debt. This funding round is led by SAS Shipping Agencies Services Sàrl (a subsidiary of MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA) and Al Mada Ventures, marking a key milestone in Gozem’s growth and its ambition to expand its digital service offerings across the region.

Gozem is pleased to welcome these strategic investors, whose expertise and affiliated companies, such as Africa Global Logistics, Medlog, and many others, will be instrumental in strengthening its solutions in logistics and financial services.

Since its launch in 2018 as a motorcycle-taxi service, Gozem has rapidly expanded in Togo, Benin, Gabon, and Cameroon. Today, its Super App offers a wide range of services, including motorcycle, tricycle, and car transportation, food and grocery delivery, digital ticketing, vehicle financing, and digital banking services.

Thanks to this new funding round, Gozem will continue its expansion across West and Central Africa, enhance the driver experience by financing more new vehicles, and accelerate the launch of Gozem Money, its innovative digital banking platform.

“Gozem is an exceptional company that aligns perfectly with the MSC Group’s commitment to Africa and its goal to develop innovative mobility and logistics solutions to boost commerce. We are excited to support them on their journey and look forward to collaborating in the markets we share in West and Central Africa,” declares Diego Aponte, President of MSC Group.

“As we continue to observe the evolving demand for innovative mobility services, Gozem stands out with its inclusive, reliable, and user-friendly Super App model. We are very enthusiastic about supporting Gregory, Raphaël, and the entire Gozem team in their expansion projects,” states Omar Laalej, CEO of Al Mada Ventures.

“We are delighted to welcome MSC Group and Al Mada Ventures as strategic investors. Their expertise in logistics and financial services in Africa will be a valuable asset in accelerating the development of our Super App and expanding into new markets. Having industry leaders of this caliber by our side fully validates our vision and ambitions,” say Gregory Costamagna and Raphaël Dana, co-founders of Gozem.

Gozem is revolutionizing everyday life with 30-minute gas delivery to homes and businesses.

Gozem, the leading Super App in Francophone Africa, officially announces the launch of its new home gas bottle delivery service, now available in Togo. Thanks to this new feature integrated into the Gozem app, users can order their gas bottle in just a few clicks and receive it at home in only 30 minutes, without having to go anywhere.

This service aims to meet a crucial daily need within Togolese households, but also for businesses such as restaurants, hotels, canteens, and street grills, by providing a quick, reliable, and secure solution for both domestic and professional gas supply.

A service designed to simplify life for households and merchants

With this innovation, Gozem continues its mission: making daily life easier through technology. By integrating home and business gas delivery into its ecosystem, the Super App enables Togolese families and economic actors to save time, enhance comfort, and enjoy peace of mind.

“This launch in Togo reflects our commitment to offering useful, accessible, and high-impact services for local families and businesses. By adding gas delivery to our Super App, we aim to simplify our users’ daily lives, whether they are individuals or professionals,” declares Jean-Claude Kunakey, Global Head of E-Commerce at Gozem.

How does it work?

The service is simple and intuitive. The user opens the Gozem app, selects the “Gas” service, then chooses the desired bottle from available options. After confirming the order, a Gozem delivery person takes care of delivering it to the specified address, while also collecting the empty bottle.

This smooth process enables delivery in less than 30 minutes, adhering to safety standards and practicality. All of this without leaving home.

An initial phase exclusively in Togo

The service is currently only available in Togo, in several neighborhoods of Lomé. Gozem plans a gradual expansion to other cities in the country in the coming weeks, depending on local demand.

This launch is part of Gozem’s strategy to offer concrete services tailored to the needs of local populations, while leveraging the existing infrastructure within its application.
